Over an 18+ year period during my tenure as VP at Brookhill Communications when the cellular business was booming, Avis Electric was always there to do my electrical work. Owners, Bubba and Scotty Bajer and construction supervisor, Ben Ward always pushed to get the job done on time and their crews did excellent work. As a consultant now with my own business, W H Gathright Sr Consultants, I still call on Avis Electric to do all my electrical work because I know I can trust them and the work they do. We have worked with Avis Electric since the mid - 1980s on a variety of commercial projects and have always found them to be a responsive, capable electrical contractor. Their attention to promptness and detail during the pre-construction submittal process, and to administrative matters during the construction phase has been outstanding. Their work has been completed in accordance with the progress schedules and the overall quality of their work has been very good. We have most recently completed a 2.6 million dollar addition and renovation to a 911 emergency call center with Avis. This was a complex project in a fully occupied facility, in constant operation around the clock, 365 days per year. Avis was required to work in live panels since no disruption of power was permitted at any time, for any reason. Their attention to safety while performing this work and throughout the project was thorough. All of the work was performed in accordance with the plans and specifications to a high level of quality and with no significant issues. There was virtually no punch list at the completion of the work. Much of the success of this project can be credited to Avis’ management team, including Ben Ward, project manager, and Robbie Brown, job foreman. We feel fortunate to have been able to work with Avis on this project and look forward to continuing our working relationship on future projects |
As an out of state contractor it is imperative to find quality local contractors to partner with. Avis Garry Stine/Project Manager |
Greenland Enterprise, Inc. contracted with Avis Electric to perform all power and control wiring for the “Hampton Hot Water” project located at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Hampton, VA. This project consisted of the installation of Steam to Hot Water Systems with building automation integration. Avis was able to consistently provide on time support and excellent quality. The field technicians, project management and office support was first rate. This project consisted of several buildings with occupied patients so these systems had to be ready for turnover on agreed upon timelines, not once did Avis Electric disappoint. The VA has documentation requirements as well as submission of certified payroll and Avis Electric has always been on top of these in a timely manner. David A. Reed Greenland Enterprises, Inc. |
Avis Electric has been a trusted partner for us for many years. Whether supporting us on complex - Honeywell |
I have worked with Avis Electric for the past 30 years in various capacities with 2 separate world wide building automation companies, primarily as a Project Manager on BAS installation projects where Avis electric was subcontracted to install the low voltage wiring for the BAS system. They have a proven and knowledgable field staff and very capable project management to insure project completion. As with any contractor related to the construction industry, there are times when time frames and durations get tight and somehow Avis Electric manages to come through. Avis will go outside of the industry standard and on a large data center project currenlty under construction, they were able to amass a team of installers led by Chris Stanley to perform in a very fast paced, quickly changing environment and perform at a high level all at the same time. Bubba, Ben, Scott, Brandon, Chris and Tiffany have all been enjoyable to work with through the years. I wish them continued success and look forward to future projects together. On Monday October 1, 2012 at 8:00 A.M. a Jeep Cherokee ran off the road and hit the Dominion VA Power main feed box to·our building. We still had power, but Dominion and Henrico County deemed it unsafe and condemned the electrical box. The power was disconnected and the boxed locked out until it could be replaced. We were essentially out of business for an undetermined am,ount of time. Avis Electric was contacted, Carlton M. Southworth Jr |
